Geotechnical work will begin Monday, March 28 at the intersection of 14th Street and Old Cheney Road as an initial step in the intersection improvement project announced last summer. Geotechnical work involves taking soil samples and conducting other tests to determine ground conditions in the project area for design and construction purposes.

The work will begin in the grassy median area north of Old Cheney between Warlick Boulevard and 14th Street. Work requiring lane closures is expected to begin the week of April 4th. Drivers will see traffic cones, drill rigs and pickup trucks in the median or on the shoulder areas of the roadway. The work is expected to take four weeks to complete.
